Explain why you selected the artifact.
This course was a flood of information on new tools. While we did not spend much time on any given tool, the wikispace in itself has become a tool for me, a resource to find the tools I know we explored. The artifacts I chose are lesson plans I made demonstrating my ability to integrate technology in a standard lesson. I selected these artifacts because they are a good example of going through the process of planning a lesson and being conscious of the technology as an integral part of the learning process.
Include how the skills and knowledge gained from creation of the artifact advanced your skills and teaching practice.
Integrating technology into the lesson plans forced me to think about the how and the why of the technology. I had to ask myself if I was just trying to use technology for technology's sake or if it was an important piece of the learning process.
Identify what gaps in your skills and knowledge still exist. Suggest solutions to address the gaps.
I would have to say that my gaps are in the actual lesson planning. I do not do a lot of formalized lesson planning where I have to use a template, and print or publish it for review. I do realize the need to know how to do this, especially if I end up helping teachers integrate technology into their lessons.
